ONLINE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Dear customer,
The European Union has created a portal to help consumers lodge their complaints about any dispute they are involved in. In this context, StatusGel provides all the necessary information so that you can exercise your right to complaint to an official, third party and impartial entity to the process, known as a dispute resolution entity, which will assist you in resolving the dispute in question.
Therefore, if you are dissatisfied with the purchase of a product at StatusGel, or with the solution we present to resolve the situation, you can raise your objection on the European Commission.
What is alternative dispute resolution?
Alternative dispute resolution is a possibility available to all consumers to turn to official entities to help them resolve or guide a conflict, before initiating legal proceedings in court.
Generally, the procedure is as follows: the customer asks an impartial third party to act as an intermediary between them and the merchant targeted by the complaint. The intermediary may suggest a solution to the complaint, impose a solution on both parties, or bring the parties together to find a joint solution.
You may know the concept of alternative dispute resolution by other names, such as mediation, conciliation, arbitration or competent committee in the context of consumer disputes. Alternative dispute resolution is, in general, less expensive, less formal and faster than the legal route.
StatusGel provides the websites of some of these entities that could help you present your arguments:
- CNIACC – National Center for Information and Arbitration of Consumer Conflicts
- Lisbon Consumer Conflict Arbitration Center
- Vale do Ave Consumer Conflict Arbitration Center/ Arbitration Court
- CIAB – Consumer Information, Mediation and Arbitration Center (Consumer Arbitration Court)
